Audrey Tautou Biography:
Audrey Tautou became an international star with her performance as the impish do-gooder in Jean-Pierre Jeunet's romantic fable Amelie.

Born on August 9, 1978 in Beaumont, France, French actress Audrey Tautou attended acting school, and after graduation, began working on French television. She quickly earned Canal+'s prize in 1999 for Best Newcomer. Moving to films, Tautou made her mark with her performance as Natalie Baye's young co-worker in Venus Beauty Institute and earned the prestigious César for Best New Actress.

Tautou worked steadily, but it was not until landing the leading the lead role in Jeunet's Amelie that she achieved stardom, introducing her to fans in the U.S. She next appeared in the ensemble hit film L'Auberge Espagnole and took on her first English-language role in Stephen Frears' Oscar nominated Dirty Pretty Things.

Tautou re-teamed with Jean-Pierre Jeunet for the epic World War One film A Very Long Engagement, before making the leap to Hollywood, where Tautou starred opposite Tom Hanks in Da Vinci Code, directed by Ron Howard from Dan Brown’s mega-blockbuster.

Tautou shocked fans as a not-so-good girl in Pierre Salvadori's Priceless, playing a high class call girl on the French Riviera. She'll next be seen portraying the iconic figure in Anne Fontaine's bio pick Coco avant Chanel.
