Coco Before Chanel (Coco avant Chanel) – Trailer


A little girl who is sent with her sister to an orphanage in the heart of France, who waits in vain every Sunday for her father to come for her. A cabaret performer with a weak voice who sings to an audience of drunken soldiers. A humble seamstress, who stitches hems at the back of a provincial tailor’s shop. A young, skinny courtesan, to whom protector Etienne Balsan offers a safe haven, amongst the idle and decadent. A woman in love who knows she will never be anyone’s wife, refusing marriage even to Boy Capel, the man who returned her love. A rebel who finds the conventions of her time oppressive, and instead dresses in her lovers’ clothes.
This is the story of Gabrielle “Coco” Chanel, who begins her life as a headstrong orphan, and through an extraordinary journey becomes the legendary couturier who embodied the modern woman and became a timeless symbol of success, freedom and style.

Michel Colucci (28th October, 1944 – 19th June, 1986) Michel Colucci better known as Coluche , was a French comedian and actor, famous for his irresistible sense of humour. Colucci adopted “Coluche” as a stage name at 26, when he began his entertainment career. He became famous for his irreverent attitude towards politics and the “Establishment”, and he incorporated this into much of his material. He was one of the first major comedians to regularly use profanities as a source of humor on French Television. Presidential bid: He attempted to run in the French presidential elections in 1981, but ended up dropping out of the race because of political and media lobbying following polls that showed a significant part of the electorate might vote for him. Some threats to his life were also mentioned. Restaurants du Cœur: He created the “Restos du cœur” charity in 1985. It collects food, money and clothes for homeless people. How is it that it's been just three days since my vacation and already I am feel sleep deprived? Clearly, I have a problem. Clearly, this problem is serious since it was not remedied by a whole week of sleeping in until past 11 a.m. Though, thinking about this issue in the wee small hours of the morning, I realized that perhaps my problem is simply motivation. Because, well, if any of these women were in my bed I'd have no problem crawling under the covers. Of course, whether we'd sleep or not is entirely another matter.
